Welcome to Motivational Mondays!
First things first, what is Motivational Mondays? Just like it sounds, to motivate, to empower, and to encourage you on the first day of a fresh week. I don't know about you but Mondays can be a drag for me, so sometimes words of encouragement and positivity are helpful to start my day off right.
Motivational Monday's topic is: Attributes of God
I picked this topic because I had to learn who God was. Knowing God and having a relationship with God are two separate things. Growing up, I knew of God, but that was only what I heard about him from other people. Truthfully, I had no relationship with him at all.
Did you know that God’s name is mentioned 4473 times within the verses of the bible. In the bible, God is referred to by other names other than just “God”. These names are characteristics that resemble him. Let’s go over a few of his attributes and together let's find out who God is. Let's start from the beginning:
Alpha and Omega
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelations 1:8
Alpha is the 1st letter in the Greek alphabet and Omega is the last letter. When one uses the phrase ,“God is the Alpha and the Omega”, they are saying God is the beginning as well as the end of all things. God is the creator of all things.
The 3 “O’s:
“Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.”
Psalms:147:5
Omniscient: meaning all knowing. God knew us before we were even born, before we were thought about, or even planned. He knew exactly what our life would look like, he knew about the trials and heartache that we would face in life. He knew that by going through this trials, how we would end up. He knows all of our faults, shortcomings, and weaknesses, and yet he still created us in spite of our errors because he knew that each of his children have a purpose and are destined for greatness. My God is Omniscient.
“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good”
Proverbs 15: 3
Omnipresent: meaning present at all times. God witnesses everything, nothing catches him by surprise. Nothing on earth can hide from God, there’s no running away from him. You could try to push him away but he’ll always be there whether you like it or not. He will forever more be with us to strengthen us, to support us, and guide us on the path to our purpose which is within him. My God is Omnipresent.
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37
Omnipotent meaning all powerful. There is absolutely nothing that's too hard for God. As my momma would say, “He is God, all by himself, He doesn't need any help”. God’s omnipotence is displayed in the creations of the heavens and earth. He formed the earth in a space that was once considered to be “formless and void”. Another example of his all powerful nature, is the design process of creating living things to his purpose and his liking.
The works of God are endless and cannot be measured; knowing that God can just speak to anything and it will obey him is some serious power. My God is Omnipotent and worthy to be praised.
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.”
2 Corinthians 1:20
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”
Psalms 32:8
Promise Keeper
One thing I love about God is that all our promises are yes and amen, because God is not a man that shall never lie. His promises never come back void. Believe that he will change your situation. Whatever promises God makes to us, he will always fulfill.
Over the years, I have gotten a deeper understanding about who God is. I know that my God is omnipotent, a promise keeper, and the alpha and the omega of all things. My God is worthy to be praised and I love him so. When you know who God is and seek him 1st then you can have a deeper and closer relationship with him too. God longs to be your friend and he loves his people dearly and wants nothing more than to see us shine through him.
“Indescribable, Uncontainable,
You place the stars in the sky and You know
Them by name, You are amazing God.
All powerful, untamable, awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly
Proclaim, You are amazing God”
song: Indescribable

~Just Breathe...A Golden Dream~
Amen.
Hey Golden Fam,
Growing up in church, I always heard of God being Omniscient, omnipotent, and Omnipresent but it wasn't until recently that I truly understood the true weight of what the titles hold. It amazes me that our God is so powerful that he can be everywhere at once. That he doesn't ever get distracted. He gives us his undivided attention and he always knows what we are in need of. These aren't even all the names he goes by. He is known by so many other names. Amazing post.
